SAN JOSE GRAND PRIX – ROUND 9 – RACE
Alexander Rossi Wins Round 9

San Jose, Calif. – July 28, 2007… Today, Californian Alexander Rossi (Team Apex Racing USA) demonstrated that not only does he know the way to San Jose, but, more importantly, he knows the way through San Jose. This afternoon, 15 year-old Rossi, from Nevada City, California, scored his first Formula BMW USA victory in Round 9 at the San Jose Grand Prix. Starting from the pole and leading every circuit of the 25-lap race contested through the streets of San Jose, he finished 1.370 seconds ahead of Maxime Pelletier (HBR Motorsport Team USA). Pelletier set the fastest race lap (1:03.221) on the way to his fourth podium finish of the season. Robert Thorne (Team Apex Racing USA) finished third, the first time the second-year Formula BMW driver has reached the podium.

Rookie Points Leader Gutierrez Takes Round 10 Win

15-year old Rookie Esteban Gutierrez (Autotecnica), of Monterrey, Mexico, won Round 10 of the 2007 Formula BMW USA Championship today at the San Jose Grand Prix from his record-setting seventh pole of the season. Leading from standing-start to checkered flag, Gutierrez finished 4.685 seconds ahead of Daniel Morad
SAN JOSE GRAND PRIX – ROUND 9 – QUALIFYING
Californian Alexander Rossi Scores Round 9 Pole in San Jose

San Jose, Calif. – July 27, 2007… Californian Alexander Rossi (Team Apex Racing USA) scored his first career Formula BMW USA pole position today qualifying for Round 9 of the Formula BMW USA Championship at the San Jose Grand Prix. The 15-year old, from Nevada City, California, bested the 16-car field in the 30-minute session, recording a lap of 1:03.031 minutes around the 1.443-mile, 7-turn temporary street circuit.

Formula BMW USA recently completed the initial phases of its unique Education and Coaching program as nine drivers spent two days at PitFit Training, in Indianapolis, Ind., at the pre-season fitness camp.
